Sports with Coleman – Wednesday May 27
A thrilling win by the Baltimore Orioles today. Looking for the sweep, the O’s were trailing the Toronto Blue Jays 7-2 before tying the score at 8 runs a piece in the 8th inning. The two teams battled into extra innings, where the Blue Jays took a two-run lead in the top of the 11th 10-8. The birds battled back with Nolan Reimold connecting on Brian Wolfe for a three-run shot which would give the O’s a 12-10 win and a sweep of their division rivals. What a game!
A great show on Sports with Coleman today. Gary Lambrecht joined us in studio from 4-6 pm as he does each Wednesday. Together, we spoke with the former Oriole and friend of the show Brady Anderson. Brady recently wrote a letter to Sports Illustrated, which had named Peter Angelos as the worst owner in baseball. The former O’s outfielder disagreed and explained to SI exactly why. We also talked a bit with Brady about the current state of the birds, the afternoon’s Orioles game and Matt Wieters getting the call-up on Friday. Check out what he had to say. Next on the show, we spoke with the latest member to the receiving corps of the Baltimore Ravens, Kelley Washington. We talked with Kelley about how things have been going since he has been with the team. We also talked a bit about his previous stops in the NFL, which include Cincinnati and New England. We talked with Gary about the offseason so far for his team and how the team is shaping up for next year. We also asked Gary about Greivis Vasquez, who is currently working out for NBA teams in hopes of being selected in the draft (Greivis of course worked out for the Washington Wizards last week).
