Sports with Coleman – Wednesday May 20

Another day in the world of sports, which means of course we had tons to discuss on Sports with Coleman today! First, we welcomed night time Fox Sports Radio personality JT the Brick to the show. I talked with JT about Michael Vick getting out of jail and where he might play next, the Lakers big win against the Nuggets in Game One of the Western Conference Finals, the Clippers winning the NBA Draft Lottery and getting the number one pick in the draft, and the Yankees playing the Orioles. Listen to what JT had to say. JT the Brick on Sports with Coleman

Next on the show, we spoke with Jim Williams of the Examiner. Jim broke the news about the new agreement between the NFL Network and Comcast which will allow the NFL Network to stay on board. Also, we talked about the Monday Night Football situation, which has Tony Kornheiser out of the booth and Jon Gruden in. Take a listen. Jim Williams on Sports with Coleman

Gary Lambrecht, veteran Baltimore writer, joined us in studio from 4-6 pm as he always does. Together, we spoke with Christian Swezey of Inside Lacrosse. Christian set the scene for the Lacrosse Final Four, which will take place this Saturday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. In the first match, number 3 seed Duke will face number 2 seed Syracuse. In the latter match, number 5 seed Cornell will face number 1 seed Virginia. Check out what he had to say. We also spoke with Pat Williams, the Senior Vice President for the Orlando Magic. We asked Pat about his feelings on his team making their first appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals since 1996, the relationship between his star center Dwight Howard and the head coach Stan Van Gundy, and also his thoughts on the comments made by Jerry West regarding Kobe and LeBron. A fascinating, must-hear interview. Pat Williams on Sports with Coleman

Dave Shenin of the Washington Post also joined us on the show. We talked with Dave about the latest issues in baseball, including the ongoing Manny Ramirez saga, the Cal Ripken-Alex Rodriguez relationship, the Orioles season thus far and the possibility of some of the younger players getting the call to the major league roster. We also talked a bit about the O’s next opponent, the Washington Nationals, and some of their problems so far this season. The two teams will meet this weekend in interleague play. Here’s what Dave had to say on Sports with Coleman. Dave Shenin on Sports with Coleman

Tomorrow on Sports with Coleman, we’ll be joined in studio by Dave Ginsburg of the Associated Press. Also, we’ll be joined by Tony Massenburg, the former Terp and NBA veteran, and talk all things basketball. Tune in tomorrow from 3-6 pm on Sports with Coleman!
