Sports with Coleman – Thursday March 4

Today on Sports with Coleman, we welcomed NBC hockey announcer Mike “Doc” Emrick to the show. Doc served as one of the voices of ice hockey throughout NBC’s coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics. We talked with Doc about his time in Vancouver, Sidney Crosby’s stick and glove being stolen, the Canadian women’s hockey team celebrating and partying on the ice, the United States men’s hockey team taking on the Canadian team for the goal medal and the atmosphere in Vancouver. Great to catch up with Doc, check out what he had to say on the show today. Doc Emrick on Sports with Coleman

We also welcomed the owner of the Washington Capitals and part-owner of the Washington Wizards Ted Leonsis to the show. We talked with Ted about the strong year the Capitals have been having so far, the trades they made at the NHL Trade Deadline and how everything went down. We also talked with Ted about his experience in Vancouver for the Winter Olympics and his thoughts on how the NHL markets itself. Of course, we had to address the Washington Wizards situation and if Ted will become the new owner of the team. Here’s what he had to say on Sports with Coleman. Ted Leonsis on Sports with Coleman

Also joining the show today was Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network. We discussed the impending opening of the free agency period with Michael and the NFL Network’s coverage, which will continue throughout the weekend. We also discussed Michael’s report that the Arizona Cardinals would be willing to part with wide receiver Anquan Boldin for just a third-round pick. Michael talked with us about the Ravens’ wide receiver problems and the rumors around Brandon Marshall. Great stuff from Michael Lombardi. Michael Lombardi on Sports with Coleman
