In the second day of training camp RB Ray Rice spoke to the media for the first time since signing his five year 40 million dollar contract extension. He is very happy with the extension and the first thing he did was that he bought his mom a new house. He said that “when he left the building he was relieved that the business side of football was finally over”. Now Rice and the rest of the team can get ready to get ready for the season and get better and take one step closer to a championship.
He feels that he brings more to the game than his legs. Rice can also catch the ball out of the backfield. He said “that with him catching a lot of passes that made it easier for the deal to get done”.
Veteran leader Ray Lewis also addressed the media. Lewis is going into his 17th season wearing the purple and black. He said “I really appreciate and love the competition and the brotherhood in the locker that is what the game beautiful”. Lewis has been the vocal leader for the team since he came into the league and will hope and guide them back to another AFC Championship game and then a shot to for a Lombardi trophy.
Lewis said “that our course was ran last year,” and we have to look ahead for this season. One of the factors for the Ravens is some people might say they have an old defense. Ray Lewis strongly decreases and said that “we have a top 3-5 D every year and we do not even think about that, we just go out there and do our jobs.”
